Interactive Story Map of Torch Lake Aquatic Plants Shows What Grows Where

 

In the fall of 2021, TLPA, in partnership with Three Lakes Association (TLA) and Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council, completed a full lake survey of the aquatic vegetation in Torch Lake, thanks to a generous grant from the Dole Family Foundation.

The results of the plant survey were published in the Summer 2022 newsletter, and the full report can be found on the TLPA website. We are now proud to introduce the interactive version of the survey, which we refer to as the Story Map.

 

Visitors to the Story Map – https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/e0c0d8bb79294061891f60a63347738d  –  will get an interactive overview of the various types of vegetation growing in the lake, as well as satellite imagery of where it was found. We invite you to visit the site and poke around the Changes Over Time and the Plant Communities tab.
