Volunteers needed
TLPA strives to have good information from each of the townships surrounding Torch Lake on any issue that would impact the lake and its residents. To this end, we need a monitor to attend township meetings and otherwise keep abreast of happenings in the township. This information may result in anything from an email blast to a formal TLPA action.
Currently, we need a monitor for Central Lake Township. Their town- ship board meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Governmental Center at 1622 North M-88. (Many of the townships are only meeting remotely at this time due to the virus.) If you are not in residence all year, it might be possible to share this position with an- other resident. Please contact Norm Neuenschwander, normneuen@aol.com, if you are interested, and we certainly hope that some Central Lake riparian(s) will be able to help.
Additionally, we are in need of someone with legal expertise. We have attorneys we can consult, but this would be a volunteer who might provide an interpretation of a ruling, for example, or guide the board on what the next legal steps would be if a situation arose.
