GEM 2026

Sat, Jun 13th 2026 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Torch Lake Township Hall
2355 US-31
Kewadin MI, 49648

Join us for the Torch Lake Protection Alliance’s Annual Greet, Educate, and Meet (GEM) event. You and a guest are invited to join us for this event on Saturday, June 13th. There is no cost to attend. Coffee, juice, fruit and pastries will be provided.

This year’s speakers will be:

  • Gary Osterfeld, who will educate us on a very serious problem plaguing our area, Oak Wilt disease.
  • Leslie Meyers (Antrim County Drain Commissioner) will update us on the status of the two dams, one in Bellaire and the other in Elk Rapids, that impact Torch Lake. Both dams are scheduled for work and the residents on Torch Lake will be part of the financial assessment. With both the heavy rains and melting of the snowpack causing severe flooding this spring, we are sure that many of our members are concerned with the structural stability of these dams.
You will have the ability to ask questions of both our guest speakers, and/or express any concerns you may have regarding the dam project.

The meeting will be held at the Torch Lake Township Hall – 2355 US-31, Kewadin, MI 49648. The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. (coffee at 9:30) and end at noon.

We hope to see you there!
